Gerald W. Kelly
Gerry joined HORNE in 2006 after retiring from a 30 year professional career as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He was the case agent on the Failure of Summit National Life Insurance and the HealthSouth Corporate Fraud investigation.
Gerry has provided testimony in federal, state and local courts and the federal grand jury. His representative case history includes cases involving government fraud, organized crime, defense contract fraud, racketeering, bank fraud, fraud by wire, mail fraud, insurance fraud, money laundering and major corporate fraud.
Gerry earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Harding University and received extensive training from the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA, in the areas of economic crime, labor law violations, financial institution fraud, healthcare fraud, forfeiture, and crisis negotiations.
In 2006 and 2007, Gerry served on a training team from the HORNE Fraud, Forensic and Litigation Services practice in providing a multi-day continuing education program in Dallas, TX, and Quantico, VA, for CPAs employed by the FBI. Gerry has also presented case studies to FBI Agents and has spoken to numerous CFE groups in the Southeast.
