Ed F. Moran Jr., MBA, CPA
Ed merged with HORNE’s Franchise Economic Unit in 2006. Ed works from the Tucson, AZ, office providing consulting and valuation services to our franchisees and small businesses. He has extensive experience providing valuations, mergers and purchases for food industry clients throughout the United States including franchises, sport bars, taverns and casual to elegant restaurants.
Ed has more than 30 years of experience in small business and franchise accounting and valuation issues participating in several hundred industry sales, mergers, purchases, exchanges, estate planning and gift engagements.
He has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal and published in the Valuation Examiner, CPA Expert and Franchise News. He is the author of Special Industry Valuations: Restaurants, Bars and Nightclubs, Financial Valuation, Second Edition, edited by James Hitchner, CPA/ABV, ASA. Ed was a speaker at the 2007 AICPA National Conference on Valuations addressing “The Seven Things You Must Know about Restaurant Valuations.”
Ed earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in Accountancy from the University of Arizona along with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Georgetown University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. Ed is a licensed CPA in Arizona and California.
