The Beginning

On October 1, 1962, Johnny Carson--a bit nervous about having to interview celebrities for 105 minutes daily--took over as the man behind the desk on The Tonight Show. The very same day of the very same year, the late William F. Horne Sr. commenced operations of his one-man accounting firm in Laurel, MS.
Much like Carson transformed late night television, Mr. Horne was also a visionary. With radical changes coming in the way of government regulations and health care reimbursement through the establishment of Medicare and Medicaid, he quickly saw an opportunity in the health care industry. It was an opportunity that transformed HORNE LLP into one of the nation's premiere providers of health care accounting, advisory and consulting services for the past 50 years.

Following Mr. Horne's strategic vision and passionate leadership, Roy Ward served as president and CEO of the firm from 1977-2003. Hugh Parker has served as executive partner since 2003. Joey Havens will become the executive partner in 2012 in a planned transition of leadership.
Following in the footsteps of Mr. Horne, the firm has remained true to its entrepreneurial spirit--diversifying and expanding services to best serve clients. As a part of HORNE's commitment to excellent client service, the firm now commits itself to specialized, focused practice areas for clients in the franchise, construction, financial institutions, health care and disaster recovery industries and to high-wealth individuals, private equity and SEC clients.
With strategic practice growth and geographic expansion over the past 50 years, HORNE has grown into one of the largest accounting firms in the United States. From 12 offices in five states, HORNE team members serve clients across the nation.
