LMGMA Acadania Chapter Meeting
April 14, 2011
In this presentation, HORNE Health Care Manager Sharon Walden, CPC, will discuss the findings and implications of HORNE's 18th Annual Medical Office Staff Salary Survey. The most recent 2010 survey provided an analysis of 330 medical office staff salaries among medical practices primarily in the Southeastern United States, including the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia.
Physician groups use this report as a guide during annual performance evaluations. In addition to the report on salaries, the report encompasses many aspects of a medical practice including turnover, performance evaluations, type of benefits offered, electronic medical records and information technology statistics.
Reporting categories include details of 39 general and administrative positions, two additional positions were reported in the aggregate. For clinical positions, 34 were reported in detail while eight positions were reported in the aggregate. The report also included a total of 12 upper management and non-physician provider positions and supplemental information regarding the benefits offered in these positions.
