MIC vs. RAC: The Devil is in the Details

This webinar will take a detailed look into the different requirements and details of each audit body. The content is designed for CEOs, COOs, CNOs, business office staff, physician office managers, coding professionals, denial management staff and internal nurse auditors.

The program will look at RAC audits and MIC audits to include these topics:

  • Terms of compensation
  • Type of claims audited
  • Look back period and record limits
  • Responses and Appeals

At the completion of this program, the participants will be able to:

  • Distinguish the general and specific differences between each audit body
  • Identify the types of claims audited by each audit body
  • Understand the timeframes associated with look back periods, record limits, responses to audit requests and appeal

HORNE LLP's Lori Baker, CPC, RHIA, CHCA-F is a manager in health care services and will present this program.  She often works as an overall RAC consultant.  Specifically,  Lori works with  inpatient and outpatient billing and coding, performing coding reviews and conducting billing and coding education seminars.  She also performs charge master assessment and charge master maintenance consulting focused on performance improvement.
