Challenges and Solutions Involving Electronic Health Records and Health Information Exchange

HORNE Manager Becky Englehardt will join some of the top health information lawyers in the country at this one-day intensive discussion of the legal challenges faced in implementing and using EHRs and HIEs, along with practical solutions for responding to those challenges. 

Topics addressed will include using EHR and HIE to support ACOs, breach reporting in shared EHR and HIE, data segmentation and protection of sensitive health information, liability and e-discovery concerns with EHR, EHR subsidies, EHR contracting, HIE participation, and more. If the HITECH Act's final amendments to the HIPAA Privacy Rule are published before the conference, a special session on those developments also will be scheduled.
