Thomas is a senior manager in health care services for HORNE LLP. He leads HORNE's efforts in health care quality improvement and delivery model reform as the first clinician to ever join the firm.
Tommy joined HORNE with more than 15 years of experience in clinical surgery. His surgical training included three years as a Medical Staff Fellow at the surgery branch of the National Cancer Institute. After completing his training, Tommy practiced surgery in a variety of clinical settings that ranged from a small solo practice to academia. His most recent clinical experience was at the University of Mississippi Medical Center where he was Associate Professor of Surgery and Director of Health Policy, practicing as a breast surgical oncologist, an educator, and a health policy advisor to the vice chancellor. He has several publications in peer -reviewed journals and has given presentations at the local, state, regional and national levels.
Tommy earned his M.D. at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He completed the Advanced Training Program at Intermountain Health's Institute for Health Care Delivery Research in 2011. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, and a member of the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure.
